Victor Tobar

Victor Tobar joined the North Star Fund staff in 2009. He assists the Executive Director, manages the Betty Kapentanakis Conference Room, and coordinates the administrative support of our staff teams working on development, communications and programming.

Victor has administration and management experience in both the nonprofit and private sectors. Previously he worked as the Publications and Distribution Assistant at Teachers & Writers Collaborative, a group that promotes and provides literary arts education for youth; and the Program Coordinator and Mentor at QQ&A Workshop, a creative writing and spoken word performance curricula for LGBT youth led by Urban Word NYC.

Victor attended Oberlin College and is currently studying biology at the Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York.

As an activist, Victor has been involved with local and national community organizing efforts, particularly with LGBT youth. He is a firm believer in racial and economic justice, sexual and gender liberation, and community engagement.
