Attention for Domestic Workers Movement

The domestic workers movement is moving ahead, attracting both widespread support and press attention. If you want to understand both the history as well as the current state of the movement, Lizzy Ratner's new article in The Nation magazine is a must-read. In the article, Lizzy Ratner focuses on the campaign for the Domestic Workers' Bill of Rights, a groundbreaking piece of New York State legislation that domestic workers hope will pass in September. North Star Fund is proud that all three of the New York groups that are both featured and quoted in the article have received early and consistent North Star funding and support. Those groups are Domestic Workers United (DWU), Damayan Migrant Workers Association, and Adhikaar for Human Rights.
