Filipina immigrants employed as domestic workers are not protected by labor laws, and are vulnerable to exploitative working conditions. Damayan has built a membership base of 500 low-wage Filipino domestic workers. The organization has won over $10,000 in unpaid wages for its members and launched a successful campaign against the Philippine ambassador to address trafficking of Filipino women.
