In East Harlem, increased rents and negligent landlords are pushing low-income residents out of their homes. Movimiento mobilizes Latinos, primarily Mexicans, with a focus on housing. They have mounted an effective, transnational campaign against the multinational Dawnay Day, which has purchased 47 buildings in East Harlem and is attempting to raise rents and evict tenants.
