Recent immigrants who are unaware of their legal rights are vulnerable to exploitation by employers and predatory financial companies, and miss out on basic educational and health services. New Immigrant Community Empowerment (NICE) works with immigrants from Central and South America to organize around hate crime prevention, language access, voting and workers’ rights.
