Investing for Impact
For many of us, we struggle with the disconnect between our hopes for a better world and how to invest our financial resources. The world of “impact investing” has identified new resources that can help you align your investments with your values, and achieve even greater impact.
Financial investments can lead to more sustainable businesses, channel capital to underresourced regions, and promote corporate responsibility.
North Star Fund hosts workshops on investing for impact, progressive estate planning, and managing assets with a progressive lens. We welcome your participation.
Fossil Fuel Divestment
Launched publicly in January 2014, the Divest-Invest Philanthropy has supported institutional investors withdrawing fossil fuel investments, which have been harmful to the long-term sustainability of our planet. The founding foundations hold nearly $2 billion in assets that will be divested from fossil fuels and, in some cases, invested in the growing “green economy.” This has been the result of divestment pressure from students, grassroots groups, pensions funds and foundations.
