New Year’s Revolutions: How to create an effective giving plan in trying times

January 23, 2019 @ 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Five people sitting at a conference table listening to a speaker across the table

Do you make donations to organizations, but think that maybe you could be giving more, or giving more strategically? Do you sometimes wonder if your giving really reflects your values and matches the urgency of the times?

A giving plan is a concrete tool to focus your giving and make sure it reflects what you care about the most. Just as grassroots organizers are stepping up to address current challenges, your well-executed giving plan is a way you can step up and do more to address what’s needed right now.

At North Star Fund, we’ve helped hundreds of New Yorkers from a variety of backgrounds to create a giving plan that fits their individual needs and matches their values. We can help you to either get started on a giving plan or update your current giving plan.

It starts with this Wednesday evening workshop, where you’ll get to:

  • Explore what drives your current giving
  • Look at tools to help you decide where to give
  • Start drafting a practical and values-aligned giving plan

After this workshop, you’ll be able to access follow-up coaching sessions with the workshop facilitators to complete your plan. Start your new year with not only some resolutions, but a revolution in your giving!

This workshop will be facilitated by Development Director, Kofo Anifalaje and Donor Program Director, Helen Stillman.
