Communities United for Police Reform (CPR) is an unprecedented campaign to end discriminatory and abusive policing practices in New York. CPR has played a key role in building power to advance racial justice and police accountability in New York City during its short history with accomplishments that include:
- Winning historic police accountability legislation such as the Right to Know Act, executive order establishing a special prosecutor for police killings in NY state, and the Community Safety Act
- Building a movement that decreased stop-and-frisks in NYC
- Organizing with our member and partner groups to hold police accountable for harm—as in the cases of Ramarley Graham, Eric Garner and Saheed Vassell
