City & State featured an Op-ed by North Star Fund Executive Director Hugh Hogan, who calls on Mayor de Blasio to be more responsive to ordinary New Yorkers.
While pointing out that we have seen progress in areas such as municipal ID and paid sick leave, he calls on the Mayor to respond to the calls from New Yorkers to enact police reform and to press forward on the fight for affordable housing.
So far, the de Blasio administration has largely ignored thoughtful proposals from low-income New Yorkers to require real estate developers to build more deeply affordable housing and create good, career-oriented union jobs in neighborhoods that will be rezoned. — Hugh Hoganline
