Lukee Forbes

Lukee Forbes was born in Brooklyn to Luken Forbes, an undocumented Panamanian, and Tashanna McLeod, who battled AIDS and cancer. From early on, Lukee faced many hardships, including the loss of both parents and a seven-year incarceration beginning at age 15. These experiences fueled his path towards social justice. At 29, he founded We Are Revolutionary in Albany, New York, and has since been a dynamic force in advocacy. His roles include campaign coordinator for the Hudson Catskill Housing Coalition, community organizer for Vocal-NY, and involvement with various organizations like United Tenants of Albany and FHI 360 Compass Rose Re-entry Program. Lukee’s journey from adversity to advocacy highlights the transformative power of resilience in creating a more equitable society.
