Shu’aib Abdur-Raheem

Shu’aib Abdur-Raheem, MPS was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and grew up during the early to late 60’s. He participated in campaigning for Shirley Chisholm, the Ocean Hill-Brownsville struggle for Community Control of Schools, and served in the Air Force where he became President of the Black Airmen’s Union. He is also a former member of the Black Panther Party. Being formerly incarcerated, Shu’aib returned to his community as a graduate from New York Theological Seminary with a master’s degree in professional studies and is a humble healer and practitioner of Restorative Justice. Shu’aib currently volunteers as a Crisis Chaplain with the NYS Chaplaincy Taskforce, serves on the Board of Directors at the Fortune Society and is a member of the Brownsville NeON Stakeholders.
