Vincent Pierce is a music producer, gun violence survivor, and community organizer. He is co-director of the arts-and-justice initiative OPEN DOORS. As an OPEN DOORS Reality Poet, he has traveled around New York City sharing his story, poetry, and wisdom. In 2019 he produced his first hip-hop album and launched the music program ZING!—to keep kids off the streets and in the studio. In 2020 he founded #NursingHomeLivesMatter to protect the primarily Black and brown residents of the city-run nursing facility where he lives on Roosevelt Island, and whose lives and freedoms were being put in danger during the pandemic.
