We are writing to share updates about our programs and resources available to our community during these uncertain times.
The North Star Fund team has taken precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
- Our office is closed at least through March 27. We are also halting rentals of our conference room for the short term.
- Although North Star Fund’s office will be closed, our staff will be available remotely. We encourage you to reach out via our Contact Form or use the email addresses for any individual staff member. You can locate the staff person you need via our Staff page.
- We’re canceling our annual Community Gala, scheduled for April 14, 2020 at Chelsea Piers.
Our grantmaking in New York City and the Hudson Valley will still continue this spring. Our staff will be in touch with applicants in the coming weeks.

- North Star Fund provides rapid response grants year round to further emergent organizing opportunities and campaign developments. For now, rapid response grants will continue to support work around breaking political developments, such as problematic responses by elected officials, rather than unexpected administrative costs of office closures or canceled events.
- Video conferencing: To facilitate remote meetings or gatherings, several funders are exploring providing Zoom licenses to grantees. Please contact us if your organization is interested in a license.
