Ro(u)ted by Our Stories is an intergenerational oral history archive dedicated to centering the stories of womxn and gender-expansive Indo-Caribbeans at various intersections of identity.
The project documents the stories of our people, who are so often missing from history books — leaving us unseen and feeling invisible.
At the event, the team behind the project will share our process with you and ask for feedback on what you’d like to see in this archive, and how you’d like to see the project grow!
- Light refreshments will be provided
- There will be a children’s corner with activities for younger ones (ages 5-13)
- We will also have childcare available. To request it, simply register them under the “kid’s ticket” option so we can keep an accurate child count!
- The Figure Studio is a physically accessible location, we will have audio recordings and transcripts of the oral histories available. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to make the space and/or event accessible for you
